After buying a watercolor book (see previous post), I decided to try to paint a wisteria flower. After many attempts, this one was the best. As you can see, I lifted some paint out for light, did some negative painting, and painted the branch with a flat brush instead of the usual round. I’m almost getting there. haha š

I feel this is so much more beautiful than anything I’ve ever done! How long have you been painting with watercolor?

OMG You’re kidding right??? š You just did a FANTASTIC flower – so beautiful, elegant, loose, and unique. It looks like you did it with a dropper. Then there was another one you did before that was just breathtaking! I don’t type everything I’m thinking in comments (except now obviously, haha) but you work is stunning! There are so many talented artists on WP. As for me, I took my first class in June I think. I’ve been painting off and on – took a four month break due to work so total paint time – 5 months. I’ll be starting a job beginning April so I won’t be able to paint as much. š¦

Funny how we see our own work and others. You have a clear gift! That flower I did today was just a five minute splash. No dropper. Just brush. This wisteria has so many layers and levels of depth. Good light. Not overdone. Beautiful.
