By The Lake Watercolor

bythelakescaled

This one took me all night to do. The strange thing is, I’m not sure how I did it. I sat down and started painting. I was watching a tv series online and kept getting up to paint..watch some more..paint some more etc. I like this one but I never know what to do with grass or a large grassy area to make it interesting. Any ideas? Anyway, hope you likey 🙂

Wisteria 2 Watercolor

I haven’t painted in awhile – combination of being busy and being blocked. But I got an urge tonight and decided to do a take 2 of my wisteria painting. I’m having trouble with composition also but thinking about water. Hope you likey 🙂

Cherry Blossoms Watercolor

Here’s my rendition of a cherry blossom. I’d like to paint them with more detail in the future. I was going for cheerful and sunny. To see my other stuff, go here.

Wisteria Watercolor

After buying a watercolor book (see previous post), I decided to try to paint a wisteria flower. After many attempts, this one was the best. As you can see, I lifted some paint out for light, did some negative painting, and painted the branch with a flat brush instead of the usual round. I’m almost getting there. haha 🙂

In The Treetops Watercolor

inthetreetopsscaledThis painting is loosely based off of a counted cross stitch pattern that we have. Although this doesn’t do the original stitching justice, I kind of like it. I started off using a black and blue background and painting everything with gouache but it just didn’t look right so I redid it using transparent watercolors. Hope you likey 🙂
