Sunset Bonsai Watercolor

sunsetbonsaiscaled

This is my first bonsai tree but I think I can do better. I didn’t want to use typical green for leaves. I used several Quin. Golds and a little Sepia. I painted the blue sky about four times and it still dried very lightly. Gotta work on that.

Sunset Lake Watercolor

Experimenting with reflections. I’m finding that paper matters. I’ve been using Canson all this time and have been having a hard time with it drying quickly or not getting the blending or water to behave. I thought it was me until I bought Arches and everything seems to work better for me. Has anyone else noticed this?

A Blissful Evening Watercolor

This is a watercolor with a touch of illustration. I approached this with no real plan – I just knew that I wanted two rock shapes and went from there. Normally I would do the shading in watercolor but my fine line pens just came in and I wanted to use them. I can’t draw btw which is why my stuff is simple. 🙂
