After buying a watercolor book (see previous post), I decided to try to paint a wisteria flower. After many attempts, this one was the best. As you can see, I lifted some paint out for light, did some negative painting, and painted the branch with a flat brush instead of the usual round. I’m almost getting there. haha 🙂
Another rose attempt with a spiffy, colorful background in neutrals. To me, this has kind of an ‘old’ feel hence the name. No real plan here – just paint. There are so many talented artists among my WordPress friends – I hope I can be as good as you guys some day.
Feel free to leave comments/critiques and suggestions. 🙂
Here’s my attempt at roses again. I got to use some of my new brushes and pens in this one. I’m loving my new fat juicy quill! I’m also sportin’ my new Indigo and Prussian Blue paints. Hope you likey. 🙂
As always, comments/critiques are welcome. 🙂 (Go easy – remember I’m new) 🙂
I work mainly with pen, watercolours and acrylics. While I hope to demonstrate range and versatility though this portfolio, my signature style is most evident in my mixed media pieces - pen and watercolour hybrids. My art constantly delves into nature and man, fantasy and reality, decay and rebirth, despair and hope. I currently teach art and freelance. I'm open to brand collabs, events and commissions. Please contact me to discuss how we can work together.
