By The Lake Watercolor

This one took me all night to do. The strange thing is, I’m not sure how I did it. I sat down and started painting. I was watching a tv series online and kept getting up to paint..watch some more..paint some more etc. I like this one but I never know what to do with grass or a large grassy area to make it interesting. Any ideas? Anyway, hope you likey πŸ™‚

I didn’t like this one at first but it grew on me. I have a thing for black (or dark colors) with pops of color. I didn’t get this from any tutorial – this is all me, strange as it is. Hope you’re not too scared. πŸ™‚ And I hope you likey. πŸ™‚

Misty Trees Watercolor

Here’s another one I did the other day. I’ve made better mist in the past but it was by accident. This was on purpose and didn’t do as well. haha πŸ™‚ Isn’t that how it usually works? πŸ™‚ My little mountain/rock thingy on the bottom right looks flat so I need practice on that. I think I should soften those edges on the bottoms of the little trees suspended in the air. haha

Potted Plant (Allegedly)

This is a watercolor that I did yesterday. I like the pot, not the flowers so much. I still need lots of practice. I know there are lots of tutorials on flowers on YouTube and I’ve seen lots of them, but if anyone knows of any tuts that are especially good or informative, please let me know. I need help.

Black Gouche Hot Mess Watercolor

Ok, here’s what happened…I was watching a Noah’s Ark movie and it had a really neat effect. Everything was black with pops of color which is right up my alley. So I thought I’d try to simulate this in watercolor but as you can see, it’s a disaster. I didn’t even finish it. What a waste of masking fluid and gouche. πŸ™‚ Filed in the “Hot Mess” category. πŸ™‚ Continue reading
